"We Don't Accept Cash" @ Starbucks

This was a shock to me - Starbucks wouldn't accept my $20. "It's legal tender!" I told them. They collected up all the coins a few years ago. Is this a progression of that plan for CBDC's?

I couldn’t believe it. Right here is the US, Starbucks would not accept dollar bills.
