I have moved into senior living for I no longer can care for my home or yard. Yet I will be growing my food in food buckets and catching the rain to water the plants. I have a southside facing apartment and am happy to be able to grow some food. Plus flowers too. Herbs.

Hi Signe, you can do a lot with buckets on a patio. So glad you are doing that. Every bit helps.

I used to live in the mountains of NM on a steep slope into a ravine. That's what I did--use the plentiful rocks to build little terraces to slow the speed of water down the slope. I was losing my dirt. I built them all over the property. Your video reminded me of that very enjoyable time.

Gentle FYI, gabions have been in use, infrastructurally, for almost 40 years here in the US.

Thanks for that good advice. How magical how those trees grew there. I want a place like yours so I can do the same thing. This is all so GOOD.

Hi Lisa Marie,

Well, I'm a renter now... I am sure we both will have places soon :)

It was magical that those trees grew there. I will always go back to that property to see how it is doing. My former husband has it now. Next time I'm in Texas I'll try to get out there. So many years of my life poured into that....

But why are you a renter. It was so beautiful, so awesome, like the Garden of Eden kind of. I love the way you were in it.. It gave me hope. It's the only life that has life in it. Well, I am kind of there. I don't have all that nature and I want it. Sometimes life just decides for you.
