Can you please make a video on the Dr. Will Spencer meeting? Key points…Thank you for all of your videos and time. Your videos really brighten my days. Blessings
Interesting. I’ve got a few questions. What is the advantage of feeding worms with half composted matter rather than just giving them kitchen scraps? Also, isn’t there any fluid leaking from the bottom of the compost planter? I see the saucer, but it doesn’t look like it will hold much. With that small volume, does it heat up much? Do you turn the compost to distribute the less broken down bits from the sides to the (possibly?) hotter centre?
Once I get the worm bin up and running I can feed them some kitchen scraps directly but too much and it gets too hot or too wet / messy for the worms.
The pan that I had on the bottom is not ideal. yes it is a bit too small. The main reason is a barrier to keep ants out.
No I don't 'turn' the compost. I'm a lazy composter!
Yes, it will get hot depending on the mix and ratio of browns and greens. The main thing is to have it start to break down and perhaps cool off a bit before giving to the worms.

Yes, it was posted up last Saturday.

Hi Lilly,

The worms really love leaves too BYW.
I'll do more on worm composting soon.
So I thought the composter bin had to have direct contact with the ground in order for the worms to find the bin. Surprised to see saucer under bin.
