A problem with using copper wire for grounding - copper is very toxic. My property was an iron and copper surface mine on a mountainside in the 19th century. It took well over a century to become a forest again.

I dug a foundation for an eventual house, taking off the accumulated topsoil in that location.

Surprise. It has taken over ten years for even the roughest weeds to grow there - just barely! There is too much copper in the subsoil. Sawdust on the ground turned a vivid shade of violet when it rained. Beautiful, but a bit unnerving.

You may want to test using copper versus the nice cheap stuff you are using now, and see how it affects plant growth.

Raw copper will kill all bacteria and viruses that are placed on its surface within half an hour. Which can be useful if you want a self-sterilizing surface. There has been a good deal of research on this.

viruses will not be killed. The are alredy dead. They are parts of the dead cells.

why don't you just place directly in garden for grounding?

Using electroculture technique might be a synergistic energy with the minerals & microbes?
